CommunitySavers Program
Learn more about the CommunitySavers program >

Our multi-family and single-family low-income program, known as the CommunitySavers program, is a partnership between Ameren Missouri and Spire to deliver long-term energy savings and lower bills for income-qualified customers living in multi-family* homes. Through this program, you’ll receive programmable thermostats, low-flow faucet aerators and shower heads, insulating water heater pipe wrap and routine furnace check-ups and cleanings at no cost.

*Multi-family buildings are structures of three or more attached unit complexes.

Who can join?

We're glad you asked. To join the CommunitySavers program, you should:

  • Receive natural gas service from Spire and electric service from Ameren Missouri
  • Have natural gas space or water heating equipment
  • Meet building eligibility requirements
How do I know if my building meets the requirements?

Your building is eligible if it meets one of these criteria:

  • Federally subsidized housing units that meet the federal program’s income guidelines.  State Low-Income Housing Tax Credit buildings will be eligible only to the extent allowed under state law.
  • Non-subsidized housing with income levels at or below 200% of federal poverty guidelines.  When a property has a combination of qualifying tenants and non-qualifying tenants, at least 51% of the tenants must be eligible to receive incentives for the entire building to qualify.  For income-eligible multi-family properties with less than 51% qualifying tenants, the building owner will be required to verify installation of comparable qualified energy efficiency measures at their expense in all non-subsidized units, at which time the program may upgrade all remaining eligible units with qualified energy efficiency measures.
I'm a renter. Can I join the CommunitySavers program?

Absolutely. As long as you meet one of the eligibility requirements above, you can apply for the program no matter if you're an owner, tenant or property manager.

Energy Efficiency Education Kits
Learn more about our Energy Efficiency Education Kits >

We believe that the best way to build a stronger, more sustainable future is to teach today's youth the importance of saving energy. That's why Spire and Ameren Missouri have partnered on the Energy Efficiency Kits program. This helps sixth-grade students at participating schools learn about energy efficiency and how to make a difference at school and at home. The program provides classroom curriculum and Take Action Kits filled with energy-saving products.  These items are designed to teach students and parents the energy-savings potential of simple, easy-to-do energy efficiency and conservation practices.  It is a fun and informative program that encourages students and their families to better manage their energy use and make good decisions about the products they purchase.

What's included in the kit?
