Registered Customer Program​

Enroll in this program to receive additional calls if you have a past due balance and review options to avoid service interruption.  For customers over 65 years of age or those who have a disability.​

Extended Payment Date Program​

The Extended Payment Date Program extends your due date by 10 days, allowing you to pay when you receive your Social Security Income (SSI) without incurring late fees. For SSI recipients​

Medical Emergency Program​

Delay service disconnection up to 21 days if a loss of service would put someone in your home at risk due to a medical condition.​

Critical Medical Needs Program​

The Critical Medical Needs Program assists customers experiencing a medical emergency and suspends potential disconnection of their service for up to 30 days. Spire provides financial support for this assistance network along with other utilities in partnership with the United Way. The program requires certification from a health care provider or case worker.

Payment arrangements

If you need more time to pay off your energy bill, you can spread your past due balance over your next few bills to help.  Log into myaccount.spireenergy.com to see if your account qualifies for a Spire payment arrangement. Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

Payment Partner Program​

Customers on a limited income can receive credit toward their current Budget Billing amount due along with past-due balance forgiveness. Customers are auto-enrolled if they receive Energy Crisis Intervention Program (ECIP) funds.  To see if you qualify, first, apply for ECIP funds.​

DollarHelp

While funds are available, you can receive a DollarHelp pledge toward your Spire bill if your household income is up to 300% of the federal poverty level.
