Nuuly, a women’s clothing rental brand from Urban Outfitters, Inc. (URBN) could soon be coming to a closet near you.

The brand recently selected Raymore, Missouri, as the location to build its new $60 million, 600 square foot fulfillment center, bringing along an expected 750 jobs to the Kansas City region. Nuuly’s center features full, onsite laundering and clothing alteration capabilities to help do what it does best.

Natural gas: A natural selection

When companies look for a new location to build a facility, they consider multiple factors before selecting their final site. One of those factors is access to reliable, affordable energy – energy like natural gas.

“Nuuly will be using natural gas to serve their boilers, dryers and space heating of the new facility, and Spire partnered with Nuuly and Brinkmann Constructors to deliver the reliable energy they need for operation,” said Sara Furlow, Spire economic development manager.

A fitting event to celebrate the space

Leaders from across Missouri helped open the new Nuuly fulfillment center at a ceremonial ribbon cutting event in February 2024.

Sara attended the event with Carla Politte, manager of large commercial and industrial sales and member of Spire’s Business and Economic Development team, and leaders from across the state such as Missouri Governor Mike Parson.

“The opening of the new facility is an exciting moment for the company, the Kansas City region, and our state,” said Gov. Parson. “Missouri’s economic strengths are continuing to result in significant investments from world-class employers. We’re proud to see URBN beginning operations in Raymore and look forward to the lasting, positive impact it will provide for Missourians.”
